BMW S1000RR Superbike
You’re looking at the world’s first images of BMW’s new Superbike, the S1000RR.
BMW will race this in World Superbikes in 2009. In order to meet homologation standards, 1000 bikes will be in dealers in December 2009 but that’s just purely so that they can qualify to run them in WSB in 2009. The bike itself won’t be available to us mere mortals to buy until 2010.
The target is 190kg with 190bhp for the road bike. It will come with a quickshifter, Ohlins front and rear, Brembo brakes and there’s a lot of talk about the engine’s head too; something is special about it, there’s a possibility it contains pneumatic valves but BMW are being really cagey about it all.
BMW K1300R
Bavarian Motor Works launched its three 2009 motorcycle models, and among these is the K1300R which is run by a 1,293cc, DOHC engine that pumps up to 173bhp. It gets ESA II electronic suspension adjustment, ABS and ASC traction control, and weighs in at 217 kilos. The beam frame comes in aluminum with the engine as the load-bearing member. Drive free with the stunning BMW K1300R which is available in Orange, Grey/Black, and White.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R
Sportbike perfection.
Who said there’s no such thing as a perfect marriage? For proof, all you have to do is ride the Kawasaki
Ninja® ZX-9R. Its unique partnership yields an almost magnetic attraction for sport riders. In sum, the ZX-9R combines open-class power, scalpel-sharp 750 superbike handling, and comfort the competitors can’t match. Its incredible performance starts with a magnificent 899cc DOHC In-Line Four inspired by our fearsome AMA Superbikes. We rigidly mounted it in a pressed-aluminum frame, then added high-quality, tuneable suspension and great wind protection that makes the ZX-9R as happy sport-touring the Badlands as carving a Sunday morning in the canyons. Lightweight brakes
and a host of exotic components keep the weight down to an incredible 410 pounds. Sound incredible? It is. But like we said, the ZX-9R is the perfect marriage.

These diverse and sometimes unconventional products have endeared riders to Kawasaki motorcycles. From the triple-cylinder H1 and four-cylinder DOHC Z1 to the legendary ZX-11 and its eventual inheritor the ZX-12R, Kawasaki motorcycles embody the motorcycle essence of raw power and quality engineering unlike any other manufacturer.

First 2010 Honda US street motorcycle models announced
Honda America has released the photos and information of their first row of 2010 street models, which includes the Honda CBR600RR and CBR1000RR, the all-new Honda Shadow Phantom as well as the NT700V. In the supersport segment, there’s no revolutionary upgrade, but only engine changes for the CBR1000RR and new color schemes and graphics for both RRs.
While the US market is no stranger to the Honda Shadow and the Shadow Phantom model is nothing more than a black, custom version with a 750cc, fuel-injected engine, the NT700V comes as an entirely new and very interesting entry. A sporty commuter powered by a 680cc V-twin engine? Is this Honda’s attempt to turn the US market towards fuel efficiency, user-friendliness and clean sportbike looks? What happened to the DN-01?

Yamaha paper motorcycle models
Want your own 50th anniversary edition of the Yamaha MotoGP bike? Yamaha will give you one, sort of, at the Yamaha papercraft site. You can download a paper foldup model and build it yourself. Want a V-Max or an R1? You can have one. These look very cool. You might figure those folks from the land of origami might come up with something like this. You need the free Adobe Acrobat reader to open the files. They come in either white or color versions and there are many pages of parts to download and fold. Complete assembly instructions are available as well, obviously, because this isn't your average wrench and screwdriver project. I am definitely going to get one of these.
It seems these have been around for a while but they're new to me.
